Género: Salsa is a a film about gender expression in the salsa dancing community in Cali, Colombia. Cali is known as the world capital of salsa, not only because of its unique footwork, but also because salsa music and dance is the culture that Caleños have adopted. As with many of the performing arts, Queer salsa dancers have been at the forefront of the genre. This film highlights the ways they've pioneered social engagement with gender expression, gender performance, and gender norms. All through dance.
